Default Paint help plz

I have some significant orange/black spots, mostly on my rear bumper, that will not come off.

I tried using a netted sponge and polishing compound. These helped get some of it off but not all.

I'm not real good with detailing paint beyond waxing. Could someone recommend a course of action or suggest a local detailer or body shop professional that I can trust to take care of this?

Thanks in advance!

Here are some pics, it kinda looks like a butterfinger blizzard from DQ, lol

i have no idea what i could have ran over, maybe wet painted lines or something...its weird.

Do you work/live near some railroad tracks? Those spots are from the iron particles that floats around near the tracks. White cars get them the worse since they're more noticeable.

quack do u get their professional shit? is it that much better than the consumer products?

i waxed the car right before the snow started flying and took it through the wash about once a week. obviously i dont hand wash as much in the winter, not much else i could have done.

still considering a detailer if someone recommends a good one, otherwise i guess ill DIY

here's what i use:
Quik Clay , #83, #82, NXT, NXT Protectant, Hot Shine, Meg's pads/backer, Porter-Cable random orbital sander/polisher.

so i guess #83 and #82 are Professional grades.

lol i should take a picture of my trunk if you think that's bad.
clay bar will do the trick, i normally clay once in spring, and once in fall to help ward off these damn specks, followed by a good wax of course.

Do you work or park somewhere where your car could have been hit with grinder sparks? I woudl say that is likely what it is and if so good luck getting that off and cleaned up.

What is that stuff? I've always had it pop up on my WRX every since I owned the car. None of my other cars have had it.

its called rail dust... supposedly its iron deposits from railroad tracks that gets into the clear coat. I believe it may also come from the blades of snow plows on the highways in the winter.

I took it to a detailer and they got it off with chemicals and a slightly abrasive sponge. I'm not exactly sure what kind of chemicals though...

Interesting! It always looked like specs of rust to me. I thought my car was rusting out prematurely but you could always remove it with some scrubbing. Still don't know why I've never seen it on the car I used to own and my other car.
